Summer of the Warm War

The year is 1972. A decade prior, the Cold War escalated to the front line, and fear of nuclear annihilation sits in the heart of every American. Tensions are high, the draft is in effect, and a recession grips every household.

 

While these things seem to plague adults’ minds, 14-year-old Jodi is devoting her time to planning the upcoming summer in her South Dakotan town. With news that her brother is returning home from active duty, she's excited to be reunited with him and work together on fixing up their late father's old truck. This coming-of-age film follows Jodi as she comes to terms with the state of her family and the world she's living in.
